DIFFICULTY:At the end of the ascent to Verucchio (km 32) there is a fountain for refreshment. You really should visit the Malatesta castle of Verucchio, built in 1449 by Sigismondo Malatesta. The scenery, from the Adriatic coast to the peaks of the Apennine mountains, is fine for background photographs.
On the way back, consider taking a break in one of the numerous inns in the marvelous old town of Santarcangelo di Romagna (km 46).
